Safe catering in times of pandemic
Is catering safe during a pandemic?

The Covid-19 pandemic is still with us. It appeared unexpectedly and changed the way we live almost overnight.
The restrictions introduced by the government, as well as common sense, push us towards social isolation. Experts urge everyone to follow the temporary limits, stressing the key role of social distancing, in both private and professional life.
As infections keep rising, Poland has been divided into three zones: green, yellow and red. The strictest restrictions apply in the yellow and red zones, which has made it much harder to organise events, congresses and training sessions in the traditional way. This slowdown hits the food industry directly: from one day to the next it lost contracts and the chance to take orders on the previous scale. The situation is made worse by fear and uncertainty, visible in the public mood. We still don't know which way the virus will evolve or how strongly it will affect planned activities.

What should we eat to stay healthy and keep our immunity up?
The coronavirus is still a puzzle. Scientists are sure, however, that it is not transmitted through food. Experts agree that food is not an environment in which the virus can live, and following hygiene standards in food production and handling removes any risk.
At Batida, the safety of your meals comes first. Now, during the pandemic, we pay even closer attention to quality and hygiene in our production and service points. We have introduced a set of rules and procedures so that our staff and our customers feel confident, even in such uncertain times.
Catering by Batida offers many ways to organise refreshments in these demanding times. Snack boxes, both savoury and sweet, are becoming more and more popular. We have widened our product range and adapted how we sell, deliver and produce food to changing circumstances.
We launched the Batida online shop, which makes buying easier, shortens order fulfilment and, above all, limits contact between the supplier and the person receiving the order. It's worth noting that catering is the most contactless way of getting food. The courier leaves the order at the door of the address given. You choose your products and pay online, all without leaving home. Our drivers wear masks and protective gloves, and the vehicles are disinfected regularly.
We have adapted our food production processes to the new requirements so that customers have no doubt that we care about their health. We extended our HACCP system with additional control points and procedures, such as wearing masks and gloves and daily body temperature checks. Before the meals we deliver reach the customer, they are blast-chilled, which limits the growth of bacteria and viruses. We pack meals under vacuum or in separate covered containers.
By respecting procedures and adding further system solutions, we still provide a service of the highest standard, with a guarantee that the dishes we prepare are safe. Besides taste and beautiful presentation, safety has become the key factor in choosing a caterer.
