Bûche de noël
Bûche de noël is the quintessence of Christmas in France. Winter roulade, usually in the shape of a wooden trunk, whose history dates back to the 12th century. The whole family sat on Christmas Eve at a home hearth, where a specially selected wood stone ignited. Before setting on fire, the stumps were decorated and sprinkled with oil or fruit wine. The ash that remained was supposed to protect the house from lightning and bad powers.
Today, a stump -shaped roulade is to refer to these important traditions. This year we focused on elegance - White Pieniek decorated with edible Gold is a mousse based on the Italian mascarpone with a layer of chocolate mousse, a crunchy nut in insert and gingerbread sponge cake soaked in aromatic espresso.
